Blaze Synchro for cTrader: a buy-only gold grid on RSI dips
When gold falls hard enough to push RSI(9) below 10 on the forming M5 bar, and the ATR filters agree the market is moving normally, it opens one buy; if the fall continues it adds at most one more a fixed distance lower, and closes both together a little above break-even. A basket equity stop ends a fall that goes too far, the side then rests for eight hours, and new positions open only in the trading hours. Two configurations are built in, and a dashboard on the chart carries BUY and SELL switches.

What it does
Blaze Synchro buys gold dips on the M5 chart. On every tick it reads RSI(9) on the bar that is still forming; when gold falls hard enough to push it below 10, and both ATR filters agree the market is moving normally rather than wildly, it opens one buy of 0.05 lot. If the price keeps falling, it adds at most one more buy, 0.06 lot (the multiplier 1.4, rounded down to the lot step), 264 points lower - 2.64 on a two-decimal gold quote - after a five-minute pause. Both are closed together as soon as the basket is 132 points above its lot-weighted break-even. It buys only, as shipped; sells, and both sides at once, are one switch away.
If a fall goes too far, a basket equity stop closes the side at a loss of 8 % of equity, and that side then rests for eight hours. New positions are opened only from 22:00 to 12:00 UTC, which leaves out the London afternoon and the New York session, and a spread cap, a maximum drawdown failsafe, a total-lots cap and a hard stop per position are there to switch on. With the news filter on, nothing new is opened from 15 minutes before to 30 minutes after the selected events, read from a public economic calendar through cTrader's own networking service on a live chart. A dashboard on the chart shows the symbol, spread and strategy, the positions and open profit per side, balance and equity, the status, and two switches, BUY and SELL, that turn new series on or off without stopping the cBot.
The published backtest
The figures on this page are cTrader's own backtest report of the shipped configuration (Gold M5 Balanced), run by cTrader's backtester on IC Markets real tick data, XAUUSD M5, 10,000 USD, leverage 1:100, commission 27.5 USD per million USD of volume, from 1 January 2026 to 23 September 2026. Every number is read from the run's own report file: net profit 1,009.07 USD, a return of 10.1 %, profit factor 4.00, 126 trades of which 110 won, a maximum balance drawdown of 0.5 % and a maximum equity drawdown of 4.95 %. The same settings on Blueberry demo real ticks over the same dates, with the same 10,000 USD and commission at leverage 1:500, gave +11.6 % with a profit factor of 5.47 on the cTrader desktop. No backtester has a news calendar, so the news filter was off in both runs.
What that backtest cannot promise. The shipped configuration was chosen by a parameter search and is published on 2026 data by the author's decision to show backtests from 1 January 2026 only. On 2015-2019 gold data the same settings lost money in the offline test harness. A strategy that buys dips with a short grid depends on the market it meets: in a falling or choppy gold market it can lose steadily, and every basket equity stop is a real loss of up to 8 % of equity; a series of falls produces a series of them. The result of any run depends on its period, broker data, balance and leverage. Run your own backtest on your own broker's data before trading.
How it was verified
The engine is platform-free C#: it references no cTrader type, so the code that ships can be compiled outside the platform and replayed on the same ticks cTrader's backtester uses. Replayed that way, its trades matched cTrader's own backtest trade by trade, to the cent, with zero mismatches, and the desktop's Backtesting tab and the command-line backtester agreed to the cent on the Blueberry run. The published figures are cTrader's own, not the replay's.
Presets
Two configurations are built into the cBot and chosen with the first parameter. Gold M5 Balanced is the shipped panel and the published backtest. Gold M1 Steady trades XAUUSD M1 with up to five equal positions, the Overlap exit (the newest and the oldest position close together once their combined result covers a small profit) and a 60-point spread cap. Custom keeps whatever the panel shows. Gold quotes with two or three decimals are handled automatically, and there is no file to download, find or import after the purchase.
Requirements
cTrader Desktop 5.x on Windows or Mac, or cTrader Web, on a hedging account; XAUUSD or your broker's spelling of it, the M5 chart (M1 for the Steady preset). The recommended balance is 10,000 USD for the shipped 0.05-lot ladder; the basket stop is a percentage of equity, so on a smaller account lower the initial lot in proportion, 0.01 lot per 2,000 USD. Eighty-six parameters, every one documented. It declares no access rights at all; the news calendar is read through cTrader's own networking service, which is why it needs none. Keep the platform running, or use a VPS.
Support
Through the Discussion tab of the Store listing, so the conversation stays next to the product. Please include your broker, cTrader version, the preset in use, your parameter values and the instance log.
This is trading software that places, modifies and closes orders on the account it runs on. A grid adds to a losing position; the basket equity stop turns a deep fall into a closed loss of up to 8 % of equity per side, and several in a row add up. The configuration was chosen on 2026 data and lost money on 2015-2019 gold data in the offline test harness. Backtest results are hypothetical; past performance does not indicate future results. Trading leveraged products involves risk of loss.
