Prop firms for CFD trading, compared on their rules

Eight firms I have a referral agreement with, each with the limits of its evaluations written out: profit target, daily loss, maximum loss, minimum days, platforms. Six of them have an Expert Advisor edition of mine that was validated against the firm's own feed. No star ratings here, because I have none worth printing; the firms' own pages and your dashboard carry the rest.

The roomiest rulebook of the eight: 10% static floor and 5% daily on the 2-Step. The 1-Step floor trails at the end of each day, so an EA has to count it the same way.

Rules, policies and my editions

Evaluations (rules checked 6 Sep 2026)

  • 2-Step Challenge and Verificationtarget 10% then 5%, daily loss 5% of initial, max loss 10% static, min days 4 per phase

  • Swingtarget as 2-Step, daily loss 5%, max loss 10% static, min days 4; no news or weekend rules

Expert Advisors allowed, no fee. Grid and martingale allowed; exploits (arbitrage, tick scalping, gap abuse, more than 2,000 server requests a day) are not. No time limit on the evaluation.

News

News and weekend holding restricted only on a funded Standard account; Swing accounts have no restriction.

The 1-Step is tight: a 6% floor under a 10% target. The EA fee is small but it is the reason a free trial rejects every automated order.

Expert Advisors

Expert Advisors allowed on a paid account with the EA add-on ($5 on $5k to $25k, $30 on $50k to $200k). Not on the free trial. Grid trading is prohibited; a stop loss on every ticket is expected. At most 200 trades a day.

No MT4. Commission per lot is real money on a gold scalper, so every edition here was priced with it. Bootcamp's 5% floor with no daily limit is the hardest rule set on this page.

Rules, policies and my editions

Evaluations (rules checked 6 Sep 2026)

  • High Stakestarget 10% then 5%, daily loss 5%, max loss 10% static, min days 3 profitable days
  • Hyper Growthtarget 10%, daily loss 3% (pauses the account), max loss 6% static, min days none
  • Bootcamptarget 6% per step, daily loss none, max loss 5% static, min days none; stop loss required
  • Instant Fundingtarget none, daily loss none, max loss 6% static, min days none

Expert Advisors

Own Expert Advisors allowed on MT5 and cTrader. Prohibited: latency arbitrage, tick scalping, rollover scalping, news bracketing, cross-account hedging. A stop loss is required on Bootcamp.

News

News trading restricted only on High Stakes (2 minutes either side).

Validated on: no demo feed exists, so the editions were validated on the harshest gold feed I hold and the ~$4 per lot commission was priced separately.

Gold is leveraged 1:10 here, which changes position sizing, and the daily clock runs on New York time. The 1-Step is tight; the 2-Step and Prime are the comfortable ones.

The most lenient rulebook here, but the trailing 6% floor on Express and Instant is the rule that ends accounts: every Express rung breached it in testing, so only the Classic editions shipped.

Rules as recorded from each firm's own help pages on the dates shown on the cards; headline figures read from the firms' sites on . Rules change: your firm's dashboard is the authority. Every Visit button is a referral link; how that works.

How a firm gets on this page

Two things, both of them. The firm has a referral agreement with me, which the Visit button carries and the disclosure page explains; and I have read its rules closely enough to write them down here with a date. For six of the eight, closer than that: an Expert Advisor edition with the firm's limits built into its guard was run on the firm's own demo feed, in a trending window and a choppy one, before it shipped.

What this page does not do: rank firms by a score, print review counts I did not collect, or pretend a rulebook is a verdict. The order of the cards is my own, roomiest rulebook first among the validated firms, then the two I have a referral link with but no edition for.

Figures on the cards were read from each firm's own site on the date shown. Rules change without notice; your firm's dashboard is the authority, and each of my Expert Advisors prints the limits it is enforcing when it starts, so the two can be checked against each other before the first trade.

Reading the rules

Max loss is the rule that ends an account. Static means it is measured from the starting balance and never moves; trailing means it follows the highest balance or equity reached, so a drawdown after a good week counts from the top, not from the start. A trailing floor under a grid or a recovery strategy is where most accounts die.

Daily loss is measured from a day-start figure that differs by firm: initial balance (FTMO), the higher of balance and equity at the reset hour (Blueberry Funded), the previous day's equity (Fintokei-style firms). The reset hour differs too: midnight Prague, 5 pm New York, server midnight. An Expert Advisor that counts the day on the wrong clock breaches a rule it thought it was obeying.

Minimum days and a best-day rule (no single day above half the profit) are consistency rules. They do not end an account, they delay a payout or a pass, which is why the editions here treat them as a gate to clear, not a reason to stop trading.

Questions

Do you guarantee profit?

No, and nobody honestly can. I build the logic you specify, test it under stated conditions, and show you the report including the parts that are not flattering. What the software does after that depends on the market and on how you run it.

Do I get the source code?

Yes, on every job. You receive the .mq4, .mq5 or .pine source together with the compiled files, a setup guide and the test report. Nothing is locked to my machine or to a licence server.

Which brokers and accounts does it work with?

Any MetaTrader 4 or 5 broker. Symbol names with prefixes or suffixes, stop-level limits, lot steps and margin rules are read from the broker at runtime rather than assumed. If a broker constraint changes the design, I say so in the spec.

Can you make my EA pass a prop-firm challenge?

I can make it obey the firm's rulebook in real time, which is what most challenge accounts actually fail on. Daily and total loss floors that halt inside the line, correct day anchoring, minimum-day and best-day rules, restart-safe state. Whether the market delivers the target inside the window is not something any developer can promise.

Will the indicator repaint?

No. Signals are evaluated on closed bars only, so a mark that has printed does not move or disappear later, and alerts fire once per bar. Where a TradingView original relies on intrabar or lookahead data that MetaTrader cannot reproduce, I tell you before the job starts.

Do you decompile .ex4 or .ex5 files?

No. It breaches MetaQuotes terms and the original author's rights. If you have lost your source, I can rebuild the logic from your written rules and your test reports.

How do you test?

In the Strategy Tester with the conditions written down: model, pinned spread, deposit, period. Where it matters I run rolling windows across trending and choppy regimes, repeat the battery at a wider spread, and force the safety limits to fire so the report shows they work. You get the report files, not a screenshot of the best run.

Do you work outside Upwork?

Yes. Upwork is the simplest route for fixed-price jobs because it handles escrow and milestones. For direct work, email info@kestutisbalciunas.com with your rules and I will write the spec back before anything is paid.
